most likely to bleed green and white:

Lydia Gould
My name is Lydia, and I am a senior nursing major! KD has been such a large part of my college career, and I truly don’t think i’d be an ounce of the person I am today without it. I was Vice President of Community Service my sophomore year, sisterhood chair my junior year and I am the current ritual chair. I have always been very involved with the chapter and I love getting to know sisters through leadership and attending events on campus. I bleed green and white because I am obviously obsessed with this chapter and the people in it, and I love lifting up my sisters and showing them how amazing they are since they’ve made me my most confident self! KD is such a special organization, and I try to emulate our values in every chance I get!

Madeline Neuschwander
hey everyone! my name is madeline neuschwander and i am a junior media & professional communications major. i joined kappa delta in the fall of 2020 and it was one of the best decisions i have made in college. i feel so privileged to be a member of such an amazing organization that has given me friendships that will last a lifetime. i am our vice-president standards and i love being on council! standards is a very challenging position but it has helped me grow as a person. i really enjoy working with my fellow council members to serve our chapter. if you were to cut me open you would see me bleeding green & white; i would do anything for this chapter!

Lacey Gelfand
Hi everyone! My name is Lacey Gelfand, sit back and learn a little bit about me ;). In my KD experience, I currently serve as YOUR chapter secretary, but I hold some other titles as well. Some, but not all, include Spring ’21 hype lady (self-proclaimed) and Shamrock cheer coach extraordinaire. In my time in KD it truly has brought me some of my best friends in the world and my absolute goal is to help keep Xi chapter thriving. H2P and AOT!

Sophie Levenson
My name is Sophie and I am a senior rehabilitation science major! KD has brought so much happiness, inspiration, and love into my life. I have had the pleasure of serving as Vice President of Member Education asssistant my sophomore year, greek sing captain my junior and senior year, as well as a member of the slating committee this past election term. I would not be the woman I am today if it were not for this organization. My sisters allow me to be the best version of myself and have helped me grow into a more confident individual. I am so proud to call myself a Kappa Delta and I can confidently say that I bleed green and white!
most likely to yell "AOT" at every KD they see:

Nicole Carvelli
Hi my name is Nicole and I joined KD last spring. I’m so grateful for Kappa Delta and all the friends, memories, and opportunities I’ve gained from the organization. I’m the Academic Improvement chair and a member of the Standards Board in Kappa Delta. I live in the suite this year so I pretty much eat, sleep, and breathe KD. Also, most people know me to be pretty outgoing and loud (I am Italian and from New Jersey). I love seeing other KDs around campus and will always shout to get their attention and say hello. It’s always nice to see a friendly face and being in KD has made this big campus feel a lot smaller.

Christina McDermott
Hi everyone! My name is Christina and I am a senior nursing student. Ever since joining Kappa Delta almost 3 years ago, I have fallen in love with this sisterhood more than I ever thought possible. I remember when I was a freshman, seniors would tell me that Kappa Delta is exactly what you make it and that has rang true to this day. It is crazy to think that now I am the senior giving that same advice to younger members. I pride myself on trying to get to know every member of KD. Whether it is at a sisterhood event or on the streets on the way to class, you can catch me yelling a quick AOT to another sister. Every bid day, I make it my mission to say the first AOT to the new members. I remember how special those three letters made me feel on my first day as a Kappa Delta, and I never want that special feeling to go away. With love in AOT, Christina ❤️

Rachel Macko
Hi! My name is Rachel Macko and I am part of Kappa Delta’s fall ‘20 pledge class. This welcoming group of girls has provided me with a safe community where I’ve always been able to freely be myself. My time with these girls gave me many long lasting friendships, memories, and opportunities that I will always be thankful for. What’s best about this chapter is the fact that you’re bound to bump into a sister’s friendly face, whether you’re in Cathy going to class, studying in Hillman, or getting food on Forbes. Every time I say hi to a sister on campus my entire day is made, and I hope to spread that same feeling to those in my chapter every time I yell AOT to another KD.

Nikita Reddy
Hi guys, my name is Nikita and I am a sophomore majoring in bioengineering on the pre-med track. Joining kappa delta was one of the best decision of my college career so far because it connected me with a group of young women who motivate, support, and encourage me to follow my dreams. I love to spread kappa delta love wherever I go and in whatever i do. AOT forever and always.
most likely to stay honorable, beautiful, and highest:

Katie Senko
KD is such a strong network of amazing women that I feel grateful to know everyday. I am surrounded by sisters who each embody the ideals of honorable, beautiful, and highest, and motivate me to be my best self. I think embodying these ideals comes with involvement in the organization; prioritizing building others up, promoting confidence, and being a uniting force among women. It feels so incredible to be in such a empowering organization.

Nat Disandro
Hi! My name is Natalie DiSandro and I am a senior nursing student! When I was first going through recruitment, I had little to no confidence in myself. I questioned my decision to join a sorority so much that I didn’t end up signing up until the day registration was due. When I walked into Kappa Delta as my first ever party on the first day, I knew that I made the right decision. All of my prior questions and worries instantly went away and I felt like I could genuinely be myself in that room. I knew from the first moment that Kappa Delta was the home I could really see myself learning from and making an impact on. Fast forward to senior year, if you asked me who I was freshman year I wouldn’t be able to recognize myself. I have been so fortunate enough to be surrounded by the most amazing group of strong, uplifting, motivating and beautiful women. Since joining, I have looked up to every individual in their own unique ways. What I have learned the most from Kappa Delta is how important you are as a person and the power you have to make an impact on those around you. It has always been my motto to act as if I am always wearing my letters and that means abiding by staying honorable, beautiful and highest. I demonstrate this by being true to myself and encouraging others to do the same. I hold myself, especially now as an upperclassman, more responsible and more accountable in our chapter, and I serve as a role model and someone that any sister can feel comfortable coming to. I enter every interaction with a smile and positivity and I have stayed very active within the chapter. I have built such strong bonds and have gotten to know every person in this sisterhood. Being a member of Kappa Delta has truly changed my life for the better and I hope that it continues to do the same for other sisters in this chapter that we have grown together. AOT <3

Maya Patel
Hi everyone! My name is Maya and I am a current senior in Kappa Delta! I’m so excited to be able to celebrate this event with all the alumni and chapters members who make our organization so special. In my time in Kappa Delta, I’ve had the both the opportunity to be on council as finance and operations chair, as well as a chapter member, but even from both perspectives it reaffirms just how much love is within our chapter.I still remember going to preference ceremony during recruitment and hearing the phrase, “Ta Kala Diokomen,” for the first time. Hearing it, I knew it was special. I’ve held the open motto close as I’ve grown into the person I am today, knowing that it was through the support of this sisterhood. In a short time, I’ll be leaving college and know that “Honorable, Beautiful, and Highest,” will not only remind me of the person I am, but also guide me to the person I want be. I hope to always carry Ta Kala Diokomen with me, keeping it just as special as the first time I heard it.

Julia Trunzo
I feel incredibly lucky to be a part of an organization like Kappa Delta where I am surrounded by amazing women who would view me and nominate me for embodying honorable, beautiful, and highest. I’m honored to be alongside Natalie DiSandro, Maya Patel, and Katie Senko for the consideration of this award because these are three women who I admire for these exact qualities. The times where I feel as though I represent honorable, beautiful, and highest the most is when I am surrounded by my sisters and when I am helping others. As KD’s, even if we ourselves are not feeling honorable, beautiful, and highest each day, we lift each other up while we strive towards that. I try my hardest to serve as a positive influence in the lives of those around me, which is why I am looking forward to mentoring our new member class as the VP-Membership Education this upcoming spring. I am thankful each day to be a part of this sorority and that I found a home at The University of Pittsburgh with these girls. They have helped me to learn that I want to make a difference in the lives of others, and that I want to grow as a human and as a friend forever. My hope is that I will always embody honorable, beautiful, and highest in all walks of life, and that wherever I go I will be able to inspire others to do the same, just as my sisters have done for me. In love and AOT, Julia.
most likely to build confidence and inspire action:

Sari Brust
I believe I build confidence and inspire action by just being positive and being confident in my own skin (it has taken a while). I accept me for me and everybody else for exactly who they are. I am VP-Membership and have been on that team for all my years in KD and I am a part of the larger Pitt community as well:)

Jess Rizzo
I am currently the junior year grade representative for our chapter. In this role, I listen to the concerns of my peers and discuss them with the council so they can be addressed efficiently. Last year, I served as KD’s confidence chair. In that role I sent out emails to boost morale and spread positivity and led several workshops to promote confidence. One workshop was about “understanding the spectrum of disordered eating” and the other one discussed body image and strategies for improving the way we see our bodies. I believe I build confidence and inspire action by being passionate about self-love and helping other members boost their self-esteem. I spread confidence in our chapter by reminding everyone of their authentic beauty and striving to create a space where every member feels supported, confident, and loved.

Ashley Hnatow
I am so grateful to be nominated for “most likely build confidence and inspire action”. It seems silly, but I truly believe the short time in Kappa Delta has already changed me for the better. From living in the suite to being one of the Directors of Member Education, I have been constantly surrounded by the support of my sisters. With them at my side, I am able to advocate for individuals such as the Deaf Community and spreading my knowledge of Deaf Culture to make Kappa Delta members more knowledgeable and inclusive about issues that may have never heard of. In addition, as an inspiring educator, I hope to inspire and build confidence in the next generation of children through teaching them to be more kind, love one another, strive to be a better version of yourself everyday.

Michelle Tsizhovkin
My involvement in KD ranges from being social chair for 2 years and on the greek sing team and now a captain for 2 years. Beyond those, I love spending time with my sisters every week and catching up with the girls I’m lucky enough to call my best friends. I think I build confidence and inspire action as a women in stem having a great social life with my friends and balancing work in a men-driven field while equally valuing friendships and long term relationships with my sisters. I can’t value my time enough at pitt and in KD and I am forever grateful to have joined this sorority and represent it in pitt both academically and socially.
most likely to cry during pref:

Corina Damian
When I first ran home to Kappa Delta on Spring 19’s bid day, I did not realize I had already met my future roommate and best friends. In the coming months, I met my big, and gbig, who became like real family to me, and made Kappa Delta feel like home. The following year, I grew closer with my pledge class while living in the suite, and met my amazing littles and g-littles who joined my growing KD family. Pretty quickly, the time when these girls were strangers to me feels like a distant memory. To me, our preference ceremony feels like a celebration of our sisterhood. We reveal how much we all mean to each other and how much each other’s support has gotten us through hard times. It is unbelievable how great an impact we have all had on each other in such little time. It is easy for me to get emotional during pref because it reminds me of just how lucky I am to have such amazing women in my life, and how I’m even luckier to call them my best friends.

Brooke Hilliard
I am a member of spring 2021 and the confidence chair of KD. I think I’d cry during pref rounds because I’m usually not a very emotional person, but I think pref is a really special ceremony. When I went through recruitment, Lydia Gould, my later gBig, prefed me. It was the first time in a hard year where I felt like I belonged in a place and that KD was a loving place I would find amazing friends. I was definitely emotional when Lydia read me her letter and I still think about it today.

Emily Weidner
I am most likely to cry at pref because I HAVE cried at every pref- even the virtual ones where I was alone in my room! I was inspired by sister Elizabeth McGrady, who stood with my at my own pref ceremony and showed me how deep her love for her sisters was with lots and lots of tears. This chapter has given me so much since that moment, and I am so grateful for all the amazing ladies of Xi chapter I have met. Seeing everyone here together tonight makes me so very happy- I might even cry about it!

Gillian Mullins
As a member of Spring ‘19 and a current senior, the thought of pref is already making me tear up. From serving as the chapters Confidence Chair to working with council as the Panhellenic Delegate, this chapter has given me more than I could have ever dreamed. I remember standing with Gill Murphy at my pref ceremony and being shown what it truly means to be a part of this sisterhood and a member of Xi. This chapter is full of strong, reliable and vulnerable women who are not afraid to be themselves. Pref is one of the first times that our chapter can show others the deep love and support that we have for each other each and every day. It is amazing to me that a ceremony is able to show you what home away from home can really feel like. I’m already pulling out the tissues.
most likely to take a selfie with cathy:

Jodie den Outer
I am honored to be nominated! Since being in KD i have had great experiences with involvement in recruitment as part of the MSS team, as the assistant to VP of Finance last year, and now as the current VPF. I truly enjoy spending time with my sisters during sisterhood events, philanthropy events, and at mixers with other greek life organizations. it is really a great experience to have during my time here at Pitt. I believe i am most likely to take a pic with Cathy because she is so damn beautiful!! I seriously take pictures all the time and i cannot resist taking one with her every time i pass.

Cayla Rubin
Howdy!! I am a member of PC Spring 20 and have been an active recruiter, assistant to VPME, assistant to PR, and been on slating committee! I think cathy is always lookin good so why not snap a pic with the queen?

Kendall Hogenauer
Hii! I’m Kendall and I joined Kappa Delta in Spring 2021. It was my first choice from the beginning because I saw how genuinely caring, funny, and happy all the girls were. I don’t have a leadership position but would love to have one in the future. It would be an honor to work alongside all the amazing leaders we have! I love taking pictures, especially with my friends and sights around Pittsburgh because looking back on memories is one of the happiest things :) Cathy is one of my favorite sights to have in my camera roll because no matter the weather she always looks incredible!

Katelyn McCormick
Hello hello! My name is Katelyn and I am a junior Neuroscience major. I joined KD in Fall ‘20 and ever since then, I have never been happier. I am so grateful that I have been able to meet all of these beautiful and wonderful girls with whom I’ve shared such amazing and memorable experiences. Being in KD has given me so much so far in which I hope to reciprocate in my current appointed position as Cathedral Standards Chair. Speaking of Cathy, I am literally blushing just thinking about her (Carlena can literally vouch for me). She is the most curvaceous, hour glass shaped baddie that has ever stepped foot on this campus. I love her almost as much as I love KD and I am sure to let everyone know that.
most likely to become a girl boss:

Abby Stewart
Hi everyone! Coming from a chapter FULL of girl-bosses and go-getters, I am so grateful to be nominated for this superlative! As a senior and second-year pharmacy graduate student, I serve as president of my pharmacy class, Ambassadors Manager at the PittCoVax Vaccine Center, and interprofessional VP elect of the American Pharmacists Association. Kappa Delta has inspired the confidence, drive, and leadership I need to strive for positions like these and execute them with kindness and strength. But being a girl boss means more than achievements or leadership; it means balancing these aspirations with time with loved ones and self-care-- both physical & mental. While this balance is not always easy, I know I can lean on my sisters for love and support and become even stronger because of it. After receiving my PharmD in 2024, I plan to specialize in ambulatory care or pediatric pharmacy, and I will continue advocating for interprofessional collaboration, vaccine confidence, and optimal patient care.

Caroline Goodwin
Hi everyone! As both an involved sister in Kappa Delta and at Pitt, I believe I emulate the qualities of a girl boss. I have loved serving KD through being our Greek Week Chair, a SET leader, and a recruitment counselor. Thanks to the support of my loving sisters, on campus I am an elected member of our Student Government Board and a Blue and Gold Society Ambassador. I am also a member of both Omicron Delta Kappa and Order of Omega Leadership Honor Societies. All of this experience is preparing me to graduate in 2023 and continue into graduate school and ultimately a career in healthcare administration. I am so thankful for my experiences within Kappa Delta and the confidence and joy they have brought me. AOT and Hail to Pitt!

Nicola Ford
Hi everyone! My name is Nicola and I’m a sophomore nursing student in Kappa Delta. Not only am I incredibly thankful to be nominated for “most likely to become a girlboss”, I’m also incredibly surprised considering our chapter is filled with inspiring and impactful people. Obviously some girlboss things would be my accomplishments at Pitt, being involved in extracurricular activities at Pitt, and being involved in KD. However because of covid last year, that list isn’t too long yet. Even though that list isn’t long now, In the future I hope to get involved in Kappa Delta's elected position of public relations. A girl boss to me is more than just your accomplishments academically and in extracurriculars. A girl boss to me is someone who is independent, hardworking, inspirational, and ambitious. As a nursing student, these qualities come with the terms. I’ve learned since coming to Pitt how to balance my school life, my sorority life, and my relationships while still keeping my sanity which sounds pretty girl boss to me. Honestly this entire chapter is filled with girl bosses. The Pats we send out each week speak truth to this. I am not more of a girlboss than anyone else in this chapter, I’m just a college nursing student trying to become a pediatric nurse one day at a time.

Preeti Vanket
Hey yall, my name is Preeti Venkat and I am currently a junior majoring in Economics and being Girl Boss, minoring in Applied Statistics, Spanish, and Principles of being a CEO, as well as getting a certificate in How Women Can and Will Run the World. And every morning, I wake up at 6am and listen to Woman by Doja Cat on my way to the gym to start my day off in the right direction (this is a fact, I actually do this everyday). Since my freshman year, I have held various leadership positions such as Vice President of the South Asian Student Association, serving as the Academic Affairs Chair in Student Government Board (SGB) and I currently serve as the Communications Director within SGB. Additionally, in my multistep plan to take over the finance-bros on WallStreet, I have become involved in the Socially Responsible Investment Portfolio on our campus as a Junior Analyst. In regards to my involvement in KD, I served as the Chaplain last year— GOD BLESS AND HAIL TO PITT! and this year I wanted take the time to be more involved within our sorority by really getting to know all the girls in KD since we lost the past year to the pandemic and I am so happy to say that I have never been more proud of a group girls (all of you are amazing i love you all). The ladies of KD have really shown me what it means to be beautiful, honorable and highest, and most importantly have shown me that God truly is a woman.
As far as my future aspirations go, if it’s not obvious already, I hope to become a CEO. But more specifically, the CEO of a company that utilizes technology to foster positive growth and change within our society. I hope to be able to work towards building more inclusive opportunities and platforms for not only women and minorities, but also for those who fall under a lower socio-economic bracket and don’t have access to the resources they need. In every job and opportunity I am a part of, I hope to create a sense of community and work for a cause that’s greater than me and impacts those who feel their voices are not heard. My goal in life is to lead in way that inspires and to leave a legacy that is not only admired, but celebrated… and go down in history as the best Girl Boss in the world!

most likely to be best dressed on bid day:

Gianna Huston
A trait about myself that I always try to express is my creativity. I love to view everything as “art,” and I believe my artistic abilities truly come through when it comes to KD. From my little’s decked out basket to Centennial decorations, my artsy side truly comes out when I am involved in KD. In addition to art projects, I have especially used my creativity in the clothes I wear. I love expressing myself through fashion, and I ALWAYS believe that life is too short to wear boring clothes. With this in mind, I believe I would be most likely to be best dressed on bid day. Bid day is so special in that it shows new members how much KD allows us to express ourselves, so I always make sure to dress to impress and show others my creative side through my outfits!

Maeve O'Brien
Hi!!! My name is Maeve O’Brien and I am a sophomore. I am lucky enough to be our chapter’s Sisterhood Chair and assistant Social Chair! Joining this chapter and getting involved within the sisterhood has been a major positive influence on my experience at Pitt. Kappa Delta has truly become my family and home; contributing to this family has been such an amazing experience which I hope to continue.
To be completely honest, I have grown up going to private schools with uniforms. Before Pitt I had never picked out an outfit for school. I never had the chance to express my personality through fashion. Although on a typical day of class you will find me in sweatpants and a t-shirt…I love going all out for any parties, events, or any group get-togethers. I think I would be best dressed at bid day because I will definitely incorporate a cowgirl hat into whatever the theme is. KD has given me the confidence I never knew I had, and I feel most confident when I am dressing up fashionably. I may not always dress with trends, but when I dress-up it’s for myself.

Antonia Canciello
Hi everyone! I’m Antonia and I am a sophomore majoring in pharmacy. I joined Kappa Delta in the Spring of 2021 and it was the best decision that I have made. In the short time that I have been a member of Kappa Delta I have been able to join the greek sing team, coach a cheer team at shamrock, and attend a ton of great events. I am so excited to be nominated for the “most likely to be best dressed on bid day” superlative! I love fashion because I feel as though I am able to reflect my personality through my style. Wearing a cute outfit also makes me feel more confident in myself, which is part of Kappa Delta’s mission. I really enjoy getting dressed up for any and all events, especially when there are themes! Anyone who follows my social media accounts can attest that I am always posting pictures of my outfits when I like what I am wearing. I believe that I would be best dressed on bid day because I LOVE going all out for themes and I’ll have plenty of time to put together a good outfit before bid day!

Erin Mahady
most likely to be loudest during "I AM A K...":

Angelina Levitsky
Hi! I’m Angelina Levitsky and I am a Junior part of the Spring ’20 PC. Outside of being an English Writing and Psychology major with a certificate in the Conceptual Foundations of Medicine and pre-law, I am the Internal Social Chair of Kappa Delta. In this position, I get to plan events within our chapter that allow all of us to spend time together and bond. Schoolwork can be overwhelming, so I am excited that I get to help everyone take their minds off it through these events. Being in a leadership position in KD allows me to understand more wholly how amazing it really is. I love this organization not only because of everything it stands for, but also because of all the women within it who have changed my life. I am a Kappa Delta loud and proud, and I am not afraid to chant it. I will always be a hype-woman, for just one sister or everyone at once. I am not known to be a quiet person, and “I am a K” chant embodies me perfectly.

Allie O'Neil
Hi! My name is Allie and I’m a senior in the Spring '19 pledge class. I study Marketing and Business Information Systems, and am also pursuing a Certificate in Business Analytics. Throughout my time as a sister in Kappa Delta, I have held numerous appointed positions, such as Assistant VP-ME, SET leader, and Song Leader, as well as serving as the Vice President- Member Education during the 2020-2021 academic year. Those that know me know that I’m extremely passionate about everything I’m involved in, and Kappa Delta is no exception. KD has given me so much throughout my time at Pitt, including leadership opportunities, my best friends, and the confidence to be unapologetically myself. Because of this, I’m loud and proud to be a sister of Kappa Delta, whether it be singing a chant, standing up for a sister, or sharing my opinion regardless of whether it’s popular. With my time at Pitt and as a KD collegiate coming to a close, I’m sad to be leaving the place and chapter I call home, but will forever make it known that I am proud to be a Kappa Delta.

Caroline Salwen
Hi everyone! My name is Caroline Salwen and I’m a junior studying psychology and film and media studies. I can’t begin to explain how invaluable my experience in KD has been thus far. I joined in Spring 2020 and it is by far one of the best decisions I’ve made in my college career. In our sisterhood, I have found a group of girls that accept me for exactly who I am. I had the amazing opportunity to serve as Assistant Member Education last year and now I serve as our chapter’s chaplain. Through this position, I get the chance to share an uplifting and humorous message with my sisters each week. With this sisterhood, I feel comfortable sharing my voice to all, especially when we are chanting “I AM A K”. I yell it loud and proud thanks to my amazing and accepting sisters!

Daviana Gonzalez
Hey y’all!!! First of all, thank you so so much for nominating me as most likely to be the loudest during the I AM A K chant! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Daviana Gonzalez. I am part of the Spring ‘20 pledge class and I am the director of community service and philanthropy! Previously, I was also PACE chair for the 2020-2021 school year and I have been a very active member of the Xi chapter of Kappa Delta. Ever since I joined KD I knew that this sisterhood would play a major role in my life and I wanted to try to give back to it as much as I could. As I continued to get more involved, I found my love for KD growing fonder and with that, grew my KD pride as well. Being able to call myself a Kappa Delta is a privilege I do not take lightly and my outward KD pride is evidence of this. I believe I would be most likely to be loudest during the I AM A K chant because I am a very loud and outwardly expressive person especially when it comes to something I love and hold so close to my heart. I have a very bold personality and I am not afraid to show out, something that was very evident in my loud reffing during Shamrock this year (lol if you know you know). This chant is one that brings with it so many good memories in which I feel not only represent our chapter but also the power of our tight-knit sisterhood. I am a Kappa Delta and I will love KD forever:)
most likely to throw "KD" hands up in every photo:

Hailey Doherty
I love being a KD and I think this can be seen through my numerous photos of me throwing up the “KD” hands :) I am proud to have held 2 appointed positions, one as sophomore grade representative during COVID times, and the other being ritual song leader. The girls that I have gotten to know through the sisterhood make me proud to be a KD lady, they all have such beautiful minds and are some of the most hardworking, fun-loving girls that I know. My pride of being apart of that is why I throw up those hands as often as I can!

Abby Liebe
I'm Abby Liebe and I’m the current T-shirt Chair. I rushed Spring 2021, my freshman year, and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. I honestly never know what to do with my hands in pictures, so ever since I’ve learned the sign I definitely throw it up every chance I get (especially with the help of another sister)! Excited to take even more pictures and make even more memories with my sisters :))

Ilia Guillemin-Laborne
Hi!! I’m Ilia Guillemin Laborne and I am a junior. I joined Kappa Delta in Fall ’20 and since then its given me so many amazing experiences and friends. I am so grateful to have joined when I did because it’s helped me get more involved on campus and make lifelong friends I don’t know what I’d do without. I currently hold an appointed position as assistant public relations - alumnae and parent relations that has connected me to even more KDs. I am so happy to be a KD and wear my letters proudly. Taking photos is one of my favorite hobbies, so you know I’ll always throw up the KD sign to show my KD pride! :)

Shayna Denlow
Hi!! My name is Shayna Denlow and I’m a Communication Science Disorder major as well has the Director of Collegiate Affairs of the suite (suite house manager)!! I was so nervous about rushing last spring, but I’m forever thankful that I did. Through KD I was able to not only meet my best friends, but my sisters. I’m so excited to take tons pictures at Centennial with the KD hands!! AOT <3
most likely to skip chapter to see Harry Styles:

Annie Padget
Hi my name is Annie and I am an avid Harry Styles fan! I have been his biggest fan since I was in 5th grade and I used to cry over one direction (I still do honestly). This year alone I drove all the way to Washington DC to see him in concert and also got tickets for his pittsburgh show! I cried the whole time ❤️ Live love breath Harry styles and I would skip chapter to see him (even though I’m on council so don’t tell Kaitlyn that)

Kaitlyn DuMerer
Since I’ve joined KD, I have had two appointed positions and have been an active member in our chapter. I love going to as many events as I can and try to hold true to being honorable, beautiful, and highest. I deserve to win most likely to skip chapter for Harry Styles because I have been an active fan of his since 2010 (I may or may not have an active fan Twitter account). I have spent more money and time on Harry than I can count. I have traveled and have waited countless of hours just to see him in person (over 12+ hours more than once). If you ask anyone, I am very passionate about Harry Styles. (No seriously, you can ask my roommates who have seen me sobbing on many occasions because of this man). The day I got to see him in concert and look him dead in the eyes after 3 years was one of the happiest days of my life and I would do literally anything to see him again. I even dedicated my nook to him in the suite and I have two tattoos for him!! Even though this is not the best, I have skipped class to go see him in concert, so therefore I feel like I would also skip chapter for him. (PS: one of the pictures in the collage is from 2014 where I was wearing a sweatshirt with his tattoos on it!)

Dominique Kurtz
Hi guys I’m dominique :)) I am a sophomore psychology major, a proud sister of Kappa Delta, and the future wife of Harry Styles. I love being in KD and I do my best to be as involved as possible! I currently hold an appointed position (internal social chair) and had a great time planning date party and seeing all of my sisters dancing in beautiful dresses (seriously you all are so GORGEOUS) I also love going to get coffee, seeing concerts, and spending time anywhere with my KD sisters! I believe I am most likely to skip chapter to see harry styles because I have been an avid fan of his music since he started on X Factor with one direction over a decade ago. I have pictures of him all over my wall in my room and I also drove downtown for four hours when he was spotted there (didn’t find him 😢😢) I waited in line for 8 hours on the day of his concert to buy box office tickets and recorded the entire concert. (I also cried, seriously sobbed at the sight of him in person) Because I have skipped classes, quizzes (oops), meals, and an entire night of sleeping to see harry, I believe I would be most likely to skip chapter to see Harry Styles!

Valerie Davis
I joined Kappa Delta in spring of 2020 and since then, I have been the Internal Social Chair and am currently the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Chair. I have been able to make great friendships with my sisters and I cannot thank this chapter enough for all of the great memories I have made so far!
I would absolutely skip chapter to see Harry Styles because he is one of the best performers of all time and I’d do anything for a concert! AOT!

two peas in a pod, most memorable duo:

Jill Bounds & Kira Mulhern
Hi guys! Thank you so much for nominating us for the “two peas in a pod” centennial superlative! We met last fall at the porch on a big/little date soon after Kira joined KD! Little did we know this would be the first of many MANY food dates as we became inseparable after reveal when we were paired as big/little! If you know us, you know that we do not go a day without seeing each other and most people think we are roommates (even though we live 10 mins away from each other). This is an extra special bond because we share not only a love for KD, but a love for philanthropy and giving back to our community. In April of last year, Jill became VP Community Service and Kira also became a part of the CS team. We spent months working to plan a successful Shamrock event!! Our favorite memories include Hillman study dates at least 3 times a week, watching way too many hours of Grey’s Anatomy, game days, pre-chapter Sunday dinners, and T-swift car rides to unnecessary Target trips!! We represent a true Kappa Delta sisterhood bond because we are always there for each other through thick and thin. We both can always count on the other for a shoulder to cry on or a pick me up, and there is nothing we would want to do without the other by our side! <3

Angela Koontz & Delaney Hershey
We were so honored to be nominated for the Two Peas In A Pod Superlative! We met almost three years ago on Bid Day when we joined as the Spring 20 pledge class...despite later finding out we had already lived in the same building for an entire semester. We started as walking buddies that braved an icy cardiac hill in heels, and we simply never stopped showing up together. Within Kappa Delta Delaney serves as the VP of Public Relations where Angela is her assistant, and outside of KD Angela is a Pink Campus Rep where Delaney is on her team. Whatever we do, we know the other is always there for support. Since we became friends there have been countless walks (code word for excuse to go to Starbucks) and many Bachelorette viewing nights (code word for stressing over post-grad decisions). We used to joke that we needed our littles to be best friends too until we realized that half of the chapter assumed the four of us were in the same fam, mission accomplished. Our friendship has shown us that true Kappa Delta sisterhood is feeling like you’ve known someone forever, despite only meeting three years ago. We’re so grateful to our Xi chapter for bringing us together and giving us both a lifelong sister.

Brooke Hilliard & Marlaina Lyons
We are Brooke and Marlaina, members of the spring 21 pledge class! Brooke is the Confidence Chair and Marlaina is Assistant Vice President of Member Education. We are quite literally two peas in a pod because are roommates at the KD suite! We met last Spring when our bestie Anna Inglis invited us both to get free Starbucks drinks. Upon realizing that Marlaina is a Harry Potter girl and Brooke is a Percy Jackson girl, we knew it was a match made in heaven. For the rest of freshman year, we made amazing memories like Brooke bleaching Marlaina’s hair (which she had never attempted previously) and getting bagels at Bagel Factory. We knew we were even more perfect for each other when both of us showed up to move in day with an insane number of Squishmallows. We spend every minute together, but our favorite things to do are listen to our blend on Spotify, dress in opposite aesthetics every time we go out, buy unnecessary things at Target, PAT bus trips to Trader Joe’s, and send each other Tiktoks from 6 feet away. Brooke’s favorite memory with Marlaina is when the two of us went to Kennywood fright fest and were running away from fake monsters the entire time (but it’s okay we got caramel apples after). Marlaina’s favorite memory with Brooke is walking though South Oakland on a rainy night in giant, bright blue and pink ponchos. We are more than two peas in a pod; we are roomies, fellow emo music appreciators, and best friends. Despite Brooke always singing Taylor swift or Marlaina drinking apple juice instead of water against Brooke’s advice, we still love each other the most!

Anna Xhumba & Sam Wert
Hi everyone! Thank you so much for our nomination!!! We met last year online during big little season, and have had an inseparable bond since. Despite being younger than Anna, Sam is the big in our pod. It’s an unusual dynamic, but it makes our relationship even more fun. We always forget that there is an age difference between us. From homework dates on Anna’s porch to KD events to spontaneous adventures, our friendship has grown into a best friendship. We are lifelong sisters and think this relationship exemplifies the values of Kappa Delta. We bring out the best in each other, encouraging one another to excel in school and enjoy the fun opportunities of college. Our friendship is one based on honesty and love and demonstrates all that you can can gain from being a part of a group of amazing women.
seeing double, best chapter look a-likes:

Jodie den Outer & Kaitlyn Kennedy
Hello! We are so honored to be nominated in this category. Thinking back to the first moments we met, in the stairwell waiting to head into Kappa Delta's preference round during the spring of 2019 recruitment, we were asked by another if we were sisters, or at least related. Out of shock, we looked at each other realizing the uncanny resemblance between us. Even Kaitlyn's mother jokes that Jodie could have been her biological daughter too! There have been countless times where we have been called each others names. To make things more confusing, we decided to live together in the suite. So, not only are we dopplegangers, we have been roomates for the past two years and the best of friends. We knew we would find lifelong friendships and sisterhood, but never could have imaged finding a nearly identical replica of ourselves. And, more shockingly, becoming roomates and best friends for years to come!

Mere Gould & Lydia Gould
Being in KD as sisters has been one of the best things college has given us! We’ve been able to experience so much together while helping each other grow through our involvements in the chapter. Obviously being sisters, we hope we look quite similar, but our close knit bond is super special to us and KD has only strengthened it! Hugging each other on bid day 2020 was one of our favorite joint moments of college, and we knew from then on our sisterhood within each other was cemented for life!

Lauren Turner & Anna Inglis
Hey guys!! We’re so excited to be nominated for best chapter look alikes! While we are big/little, maybe we should start calling each other twins. Our first big little date we FaceTimed for over 2 hours, and have been able to relate on so many things (when we met at Starbucks for the first time we ordered the same thing). today, we never run out of things to talk about and always have so much fun together. While our height difference is surprising since anna is a lot taller that I had expected, the blonde hair and our love for elle woods is an easy way to mix us up!

Cayla Rubin & Marlaina Lyons
We’re Cayla Rubin and Marlaina Lyons, big and little, but twins are the same time :) When we joined our very first big little zoom date with each other, we were both absolutely shocked that our twin was staring at us from across the screen. Throughout the entire process of big little we were both approached by our sisters telling us not only how much we looked alike, but how perfect we would be as a big little duo and how our personalities were also twinning :) Now we are THE look-a-like big and little duo. Not only do we both wear the same glasses, we are also baby freeze queens. We have both been assistant to VP-ME, tear it up at every mixer with our rockin moves, and have been attending sisterhood events together since Marlaina joined her PC in Spring ‘21. And BTW don’t worry if you call us each others names, we’re used to it.
Nautilus Shell Honor Award

Jill Bounds
Hi guys! I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for nominating me for the Nautilus Shell Honor Award. I believe that I encompass all of Kappa Delta’s values in everything that I do in this chapter. As VP Community Service this past year, and a member of the CS team the year prior, I am passionate about our chapter and philanthropies. Through my leadership in Kappa Delta thus far, I strive to set a positive example, incorporate the chapter’s opinions/feedback, plan successful philanthropic events, and be a sister for anyone to lean on if they need me. I always do my best to attend Kappa Delta events and spend time with my sisters. I also plan to continue my leadership and dedication to our Kappa Delta chapter for the rest of my time here at Pitt! The Nautilus Shell Award would be an honor to receive as Kappa Delta means the world to me and so do all of my sisters <3

Kaitlyn Kennedy
Since the moment I joined Kappa Delta I have felt the utmost joy and devotion to this organization for bringing me the best moments, memories, and sisters a girl could ask for! For the past two years, serving as the Vice President of Community Service and, currently, the President of Xi chapter, I have felt a deep connection to Kappa Delta and strive to live up to all of the values that this organization holds dear. Leading this chapter during a global pandemic and in the changing times of these past few months have not been easy, but I have been able to create opportunities for our members to be involved in philanthropy with our 2020 Semi-Virtual Color Me Kaydee run, our Be the Band Bracelet Fundraiser, and Food Drive for Family House. As well as creating a national pen pal letter system with the Girl Scouts of America in which our members communicated with young women across the nation, from New York to Arizona, while our abilities to host in-person activities were unattainable. Currently, as President, I serve as a liaison between Kappa Delta and the Pitt Community ensuring our chapter is exemplifying all aspects of our values with each passing day. Having the opportunity to serve on Centennial Committee and assist with this celebration has allowed me to gain a deeper gratitude for those that have come before me and stronger desire to create a greater Kappa Delta for those yet to come. Through each of my duties, in previous and current years, I strive to make all that is honorable, beautiful, and highest for Kappa Delta come true. And, with that, my devotion to this organization is never ending. AOT always & forever.

Annie Padget
Hi y’all my name is Annie Padget and I can say full heartedly that Kappa Delta changed my life. I am so honored and humbled to be nominated for this award next to all these beautiful hardworking ladies who I look up to. I love kappa delta so much that I became involved in not one but two positions: panhel delegate and external social chair. Although they come with a lot of challenges, they have taught me how to be a leader and make a difference in our community and within our chapter. This year I was tasked with Centennial which I have loved planning with Kaitlyn. I believe that I encompass all of kappa deltas values in everything I do and always strive to meet the needs of everyone. Love in AOT :)

Julie Grier
I feel so honored to be nominated for this award alongside Jill, Annie, and Kaitlyn who have all done extraordinary things for this chapter. One of my favorite sayings in Kappa Delta is that "KD is wanting to, instead of having to" and I think I have exemplified that motto since I pledged to be a Kappa Delta Sister. I was elected and had the privilege to serve as Secretary in my Sophomore year, SET leader in my Junior year and now in my Senior year as Vice President Operations. I have done everything I can to be an empathetic, passionate, and driven leader to help our chapter strive to be its best. This year, I used my previous experience of serving on council in an in-person setting to help with the transition from virtual to in-person events and to keep Kappa Delta Xi Chapter traditions, rituals, and ideals intact and flourishing. I love this chapter and it has given me the friends that I will call home for the rest of my life. It has taught me how to be my best self and that going above and beyond for my sisters gives me so much joy. I am proud to be a Kappa Delta. AOT, Julie
