KAPPA DELTA
XI CHAPTER

"For the past 100 (and one) years, the Xi Chapter of Kappa Delta at the University of Pittsburgh has grown in devotion, sisterhood, scholar, and so much more. Based in the heart of Pittsburgh, we found a home on campus amongst a genuine collection of sisters.  Generation after generation, we have instilled core values, built confidence, inspired action, supported our local community, and created a life-long sisterhood that continues to grow with each passing day.

It is not without doubt, that Xi has flourished in the most honorably, beautifully, and highest manner since the founders ignited that spark in 1920.  Despite the fact that 100 years have passed, looking at where the chapter is currently, we continue to welcome spectacular women into our sisterhood with open arms, support local and national philanthropies through our Shamrock events, build confidence around the surrounding communities, and participate in and collaborate with fellow fraternity and sorority life organizations on events that service not only our community, but the entirety of the University of Pittsburgh.  Yet, while some aspects remain a tradition, we have also improved areas pertinent to our sisterhood.  We have developed more systems that promote leadership opportunities and the support of sisters in need, emphasized the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and have worked to continue to serve our philanthropies through the creation of more philanthropy events.

In the wake of a global pandemic, our sisterhood was tested before like none other.  Separated by distancing and masks, we continued to build a stronger circle of friendship through letters during quarantine, welcomed over 50 women into our chapter, raised over $2,500 for Prevent Child Abuse America, and hosted virtual recruitment, International Girls Day, sisterhood events, and much more to continue the 100 years of work that previous generations had built.  Heading into this new world, we look forward to reviving our traditions in an in-person setting.  Devoted to the pearl white and emerald green, our sisterhood will continue to thrive and flourish with each passing day.  We invite all sisters, current and graduated,  from near and far, to join us in celebration of all of the Xi Chapter accomplishments over the last 10 decades and begin creating new memories for the next 100 years to come. AOT always and forever!"
